In addition, its hot-swapping support allows you to insert or remove the drive without needing powering off your server. ??This drive features leading technologies, such as IBM's No-ID formatting, which provides greater storage efficiency and performance, and Magneto Resistive (MR) heads. MR heads allow data to be stored at a very high areal density, providing higher capacity and enhanced reliability. It squeezes more data on each disk, reducing the number of disks and heads required for a given capacity. With fewer heads and disks per GB, the drive uses less power and generates less heat and sound.
