Swap out your optical drive with a second battery to increase your unplugged power supply. The ThinkPad Ultrabay Slim Li-Polymer Battery fits neatly into the Ultrabay Slim bay of the ThinkPad T40. It can be used with the system battery or the optional ThinkPad T40 Series High Capacity Li-Ion Battery for all day computing (up to 8 hours on select systems).

Operates and recharges in the Ultrabay Slim bay of the ThinkPad system
Power of a second battery without having to carry around a spare loose battery
Similar specifications to the standard system battery - Use it in the Ultrabay bay of the ThinkPad system along with your standard system battery to get up to twice the unplugged usage time as the standard system battery alone. Since the battery works in the Ultrabay Slim you don't have to suspend the system to swap out the system battery to use the ThinkPad for an extended period of time.
