MS Office 2003
Although a later edition of Microsoft Office appeared some years ago, many loyal fans still continue to use the Microsoft Office 2003 edition. Its not that there is anything wrong with the 2007 version of Microsoft Office – it is a great office productivity suite. But Microsoft Office 2003 offers the user just about all the features needed in normal business operations, so many people did not feel the need to upgrade when the new version came out.
Also for smaller businesses, those not in a position to invest more or those that do not need the latest computer hardware, using Microsoft Office 2003 makes sense because it does not demand much in the way of hardware. Remember that the suite was developed to run on computers made in 2003 and earlier. That means that you can run Microsoft Office 2003 on computers with a 133MHz processor, 128 MB Ram and a 360 MB HDD. For small companies who do not need more modern equipment, using Microsoft Office 2003 makes sound economic sense.
